I saw this place on an Insider video and immediately knew I needed to eat this. I mean LOOK AT IT- two plantain halves smashed and fried filled with beautifully marinated bistec, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, and garlic on top I can't even begin to explain how delicious this was but just know I actually teared up while eating it because of how amazing it was. Ask Alessandro. He ordered the pulpo jibarito and it was PACKED with pulpo that was so chewy and yummy. As for the mofongo- INSANE. IT WASNT JUST SMASHED PLANTAIN IT ALSO HAD FRIED PIECES OF PORK IN ITTTTTT ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEE???? ugh. I'm genuinely angry there isn't a Jibaritos y Más in ATX but I am grateful I got to enjoy it in Chicago

Jibaritos consistently delivers authentic Puerto Rican food, with generous portions at a good price. I'm from NY and was missing Puerto Rican food that hits- this place delivers! I recommend lechón entree and papa rellenas with the spicy sauce. Their arroz gandules is soo addicting! Their tostones are crispy and perfectly thick. I've seen many people order ensalada de pulpo in the summer time but I've yet to try. This place can get busy but you can always get your servers attention, no problem. I would say this is very family friendly and I love the wall mural! Such a good vibe

My life has been changed ever since I tried the rellenos. Please never stop making them. The jibarito was one of the best ones I've had in the city. I'm actually not a big plantains fan but was recently converted by having the jibarito from here. Its sturdy but soft and it manages to hold its shape without hurting the roof of your mouth. I personally think that you benefit from keeping the mayo and lettuce in this type of sandwich as it gives it a nice creaminess (without being soggy). American cheese slices work surprisingly well here. They're also not skimpy on the onion and I love the added dollop of garlic paste on top of the plantain. 5/5

I was very excited to try Puerto Rican food for the first time. My boyfriend and I came for a late lunch and there was plenty of seating. The staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming! I ordered the Cubano Jibarito's and my boyfriend got the Lechón Jibarito's. You definitely get your bang for your buck as the portion sizes are big. If you didn't know a jibarito is a sandwich, but with fried plantains instead of bread. They were both really good and you can't go wrong with either. It just depends on what type of meat you want. Highly recommend you try this place out. Next door they also have a to go option!

Dare I say...better than the other popular Puerto Rican restaurant on Division...? Just maybe! Was feenin' for a jibarito and wanted to try a new place, so found this place on Yelp. Excellent wait service, authentic flavors, timely food preparation, an extensive (but comprehensive) menu, and it's BYOB! The steak jibarito was so big and filling, I could only eat half of it. I tried mofongo for the first time, and the beef stew with it was so seasoned, you could eat it by itself. Can't wait to visit again!

10/10 My husband and I have been coming here for years and has become part of the restaurants we frequently eat at or do takeout because the food never disappoints. The servers are very attentive ensuring all is well and the music keeps the place lively.

They have two storefronts- one to sit down and one for to-go. Everyone was really nice and I got my order quickly. I ordered a lechon jibarito. I ate it at the airport so it was cool then, but still really yummy! There garlic on the plantain really hit. The lechon was dry like other reviews said so I wish I got something different.

First timer and we ordered ahead and picked up. The smell in the car was phenomenal so we were excited to dig in and we were not disappointed. We ordered: - jibarito de Cubano - their cubano sandwich was insane. Lots of flavor, loved the garlic on the the top of plantain bread. The meats were flavorful... didn't love the thick tomato slices but otherwise flavor was great and didn't get too soggy when I ate the leftover half bc the sandwich was huge - lechon and rice and beans - great flavor and the salsa in the side was so good. Pork itself was just a tad dry - some side orders including the empanadas (kinda dry), the sweet corn was surprisingly good, and the fish fritter (salty and delicious) Took out a star as we had a side order of pasteles that didn't make it into our bag and we were home by the time we realized it; the pick up was a little crazy and disorganized. But will be back to try other items!
